Gangrape and suicide: The end of a minor's life, questions on the role of the police

The gangrape of a minor girl in Vaishali Nagar and her subsequent suicide has shaken the entire area. This case not only highlights a heinous crime, but also brings to light the insensitivity and negligence of the police.

The 17-year-old victim and Adi Barle were in a love relationship. The two kept talking and meeting for several months. But Adi betrayed the girl and along with his friends gangraped her on February 16. The victim was completely shattered by this incident and committed suicide on February 18.

Police negligence:
The victim's family immediately tried to file a report with the police, but the police did not register an FIR. Due to this negligence, the courage of the accused increased even more and they got a chance to escape. When the people of the Muslim community put pressure, then the police registered an FIR, but by then the accused had absconded. There is anger in the society due to this incident. People are questioning the role of the police and demanding strict punishment for the accused.
