After being elected as the leader of the Delhi BJP Legislative Party, Rekha Gupta took oath as the 9th Chief Minister of Delhi on February 20. The Lieutenant Governor administered the oath to her. She has been elected MLA from Shalimar Bagh for the first time. Along with her, her cabinet colleagues also took oath as ministers. The names of many faces including Pravesh Verma, Satish Upadhyay, Vijendra Gupta, Shikha Rai were being considered in the race for the CM of Delhi. Ultimately, Rekha Gupta won the race.

These are the six names who became ministers.
Along with the Chief Minister, six ministers also took oath in the swearing-in ceremony of the new government of Delhi. Pravesh Verma, Ashish Sood, Pankaj Singh, Manjinder Sirsa, Kapil Mishra, Ravindra Indraj became cabinet ministers in Delhi.

1. Pravesh Verma
Pravesh Verma, who was elected MLA from New Delhi and was in the race for CM, has also been included in the new cabinet of Delhi. Pravesh Verma, who defeated AAP's National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal, was at the forefront in the race for CM.

2. Kapil Mishra
Kapil Mishra was also included in the new cabinet of Delhi. MLA from Karawal Nagar Kapil Mishra also took oath as a minister today. He has won from Karawal Nagar for the second time. Before BJP, he has also been in Aam Aadmi Party.

3. Ashish Sood
Ashish Sood also took oath as minister today along with Rekha Gupta. Ashish Sood has won the election from Janakpuri. He has become MLA for the first time. Earlier Ashish has been a councilor. He is also the in-charge of Goa and Jammu Kashmir of BJP. Sood comes from Punjabi community. The state BJP leadership is also from Punjabi community.

4. Manjinder Singh Sirsa
Manjinder Singh Sirsa was also included in the new cabinet of Delhi. He is an MLA from Rajouri Garden. Sirsa, who became MLA for the third time, is the Sikh face of BJP in Delhi. In the year 2021, Manjinder Singh Sirsa joined BJP from Shiromani Akali Dal.  

5. Pankaj Singh
Pankaj Singh, MLA who won from Vikaspuri, also took oath as minister.

6. Ravindra Indraj
Ravindra Indraj also took oath along with Rekha Gupta. His name is also included in those who took oath as minister. He has become MLA for the first time from Bawana reserved seat.  

Rekha Gupta's political career
Rekha Gupta's political career has been impressive. She has worked on many important posts in the BJP. Along with being the National Vice President of the BJP Mahila Morcha, she was also the mayoral candidate from the BJP in the municipal elections. Her political journey started from Delhi University, where she was the General Secretary of the Delhi University Students Union. After this, she played an active role in the BJP and reached high positions in the party and made her mark as an experienced leader.

Early life
Rekha Gupta was born in 1974 in Nandgarh village of Julana tehsil of Jind district of Haryana. In 1976, the entire family came to Delhi after her father got a job as a manager in the State Bank of India. Rekha Gupta completed her studies in Delhi and joined the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad while entering student politics. After graduating in LLB, she became active in politics from her college days.

    Rekha Gupta became MLA by defeating Vandana Kumari of Aam Aadmi Party from Shalimar Bagh seat.


    Her political journey began with Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and she
    has been the secretary of Delhi University.
    Rekha Gupta is associated with both urban and rural communities.
    Her family does business in Julana (Haryana), while her political and educational development took place in Delhi.


    Rekha Gupta's father worked in the State Bank of India. Her family settled in Shalimar Bagh, Delhi.
    Rekha Gupta's grandfather Maniram Jindal lived in the village.
    Rekha Gupta comes from the Vaishya community. Which is considered to be the core voter of BJP. She
    is a graduate in LLB. Rekha Gupta, a lawyer by profession,
    was born in 1974 in Nandgarh village of Julana tehsil of Jind district of Haryana.
