Mumbai Actress Yami Gautam spoke openly on many issues. During this, she told why she decided not to do big budget films and why she rejected such films.
The actress revealed that she has always preferred content-driven cinema. When asked if she has ever turned down a big film due to lack of a good script, Yami said, "Yes." However, she did not reveal the name of the project that she turned down. Reflecting on her decision, Yami said, "Every decision is taken after careful thought. Both personally and professionally, I am grateful to spend time on projects that really connect with me, I connect with the story."
The actress also expressed her gratitude for the respect and appreciation she has received from her audience. She said, "I am glad that the audience respects it and they appreciate me for my work rather than the scale of the film.
Yami Gautam also revealed what kind of scripts she likes. The actress said, I trust my knowledge and acting. I try not to get too comfortable. I don't analyze too much. After reading the script, whether it excites me or challenges me, that makes my decision to work or not. I believe in playing roles that push my limits.
Talking about the work front, the actress recently appeared in the film 'Dhoom Dham', in which she played the role of a well-mannered and cultured Koyal Chaddha. Pratik Gandhi is also with Yami in the romantic-comedy. The film was released on Netflix on 14 February 2025.
