Naxalites targeted the vehicle of the soldiers, firing after explosion

Bijapur Naxalites carried out a major attack on the security forces' pickup vehicle on the Bhopalpattanam National Highway in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district. Naxalites blew up the vehicle by detonating an IED near Gorla Nala, after which firing was also done.

According to preliminary information, some soldiers are reported to have been injured in this attack. Security forces also retaliated, after which the Naxalites fled towards the dense forests.

After the incident, additional forces have been deployed in the area and a search operation is being carried out. Security agencies are busy investigating the entire incident.
