Railways' big decision: Now passengers will not be able to travel in sleeper-AC coaches on waiting tickets

New Delhi Indian Railways has made a big change for crores of passengers traveling by train. From May 1, passengers with waiting tickets will be completely banned from traveling in sleeper and AC coaches. Violating the rule will result in a fine by the TTE or the passenger will be sent to the general coach.

Captain Shashi Kiran, Chief Public Relations Officer of North Western Railway, said that this step has been taken to ensure the convenience of passengers with confirmed tickets. Often passengers with waiting tickets enter sleeper and AC coaches and cause inconvenience to those with confirmed seats. This not only makes the journey of passengers difficult, but also hinders movement inside the coach.

Key points of the rule:
    Travel will be allowed only in general class on waiting tickets.
    Traveling with waiting tickets in sleeper and AC coaches will attract a fine or will be sent to the general coach.
    If the ticket is not confirmed during online booking from IRCTC, it is automatically cancelled.
    Keeping in mind the convenience of those with confirmed tickets, the Railways has taken this strict action.

Railways has appealed to the passengers to check their ticket status before travelling and follow the rules so that the journey remains smooth and safe.
