New Delhi The Israeli Embassy in India on Wednesday denied a viral claim that Israel had issued a letter to the Indian Foreign Ministry accusing an Indian Army officer of sexually abusing a female soldier of the Israeli Defense Force during a military exercise in Jammu and Kashmir. The Israeli Embassy has termed it as 'fake news'.

'Those who resort to fake news will not succeed'

The Israeli Embassy in India has stressed the strong ties between the two countries and said that those who resort to fake news and hate will not succeed in causing harm. The alleged letter that is being discussed on social media was signed by Naor Gilon, who has previously served as Israel's ambassador to India. The embassy clarified that no such official letter has been sent to India.

"This won't work"

In a post on social media X, the Israeli embassy said, "Unbelievable! The relationship between Israel and India is so strong that haters resort to fake news to try to harm it. This will not work."
