Pathalgaon A 76-year-old man died a painful death in an elephant attack in Bhelwa Kochni Dih village under Pathalgaon forest range of Jashpur district. The deceased has been identified as Seeban Ram Bhoi. This incident is being reported around 10 pm on Friday night.
The elderly stayed in the forest despite the warning of the forest department.
The forest department had already warned the villagers in view of the elephant activity in the area and advised them to leave the forest and go to safer places. The forest workers themselves had reached Seeban Ram's house and warned him, after which his wife Sukanti Bai had gone to another house in Joranjharia in time.
But Seeban Ram did not take the forest department's words seriously and stayed in the house in the forest. When he left the house to go to his wife after hearing the sound of elephants at night, an elephant attacked him. He died on the spot.
There is panic in the area, the forest department is investigating.
There is an atmosphere of panic in the village after the incident. The police have registered a case and made a Panchnama of the dead body and started investigating the case. Along with this, the forest department team has also reached the spot and is engaged in investigation.
