Bengaluru     The celebration of Royal Challengers Bangalore's (RCB) victory in IPL 2025 at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Wednesday turned into mourning when a stampede broke out due to heavy crowd. In this accident, 7 people died, while dozens were injured.

The incident happened when thousands of people had reached the stadium to attend the felicitation ceremony organized on RCB's playoff victory. Captain Faf du Plessis, Virat Kohli, Dinesh Karthik and other players were to be present at the ceremony. As soon as the players were informed about their arrival, the barricades were broken and the uncontrolled crowd took the form of a stampede.

According to eyewitnesses, a crowd of fans started gathering outside the stadium since morning. The team had reached Bengaluru's Chinnaswamy Stadium for the victory parade. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and the Governor also felicitated the players at Vidhana Soudha. Meanwhile, it started raining. After which the players and the people present in the ground were seen running away from there. The players immediately boarded the bus. A huge crowd gathered in no time. Some fans were seen climbing the wall and fence of the Chinnaswamy Stadium. During this time, a stampede broke out among the crowd. In which 7 people died.

The reason behind the accident is being said to be the negligence of the organizers.

Police Commissioner B. Dayanand said, "Serious lapses have been found in crowd management. A detailed investigation is underway, the organizers have been asked for an explanation."

This accident turned a moment of celebration into a huge tragedy that has not only shocked RCB fans but the entire cricketing world.
