Operation Baaz: Two accused arrested for cow smuggling, 16 bulls seized

Mungeli Under the 'Operation Baaz' campaign being run on the instructions of Superintendent of Police Bhojram Patel, Lalpur police station has registered another major success. Two accused have been arrested while cruelly driving 16 bulls being taken to the slaughterhouse near village Harnachaka. The arrested accused have been sent on judicial remand. Two accused absconded.

What is the matter:
On the night of June 14, at around 11:30 pm, information was received from the villagers on Harnachaka Road that four persons were cruelly driving the bulls on foot. The police team, which reached the spot under the leadership of station in-charge Amit Gupta, took action and succeeded in arresting two accused, while two others absconded taking advantage of the darkness.

Arrested accused:
Manish Bandhale father Dhanush Bandhale (age 20), resident of village Daukapa, police station Jarhagaon
Lakhanlal Banjare father Madho Banjare (age 40), resident of Musau Navagaon, police station Fasterpur

Both the accused admitted during interrogation that they were taking 16 bulls to the slaughterhouse. All the bulls were seized from the spot and a crime was registered under section 11 of the Animal Cruelty Act 1960 and section 6 and 10 of the Chhattisgarh Animal Protection Act 2004.

Important role of police team:
In the action, the entire team including Sub Inspector Amit Gupta (station in-charge), Sub Inspector Dilip Prabhakar, Raghuveer Singh Rajput, PR Domru Dhruv, Bhop Singh, constable Jitendra Singh, Ramakant Dahriya, Devendra Nagare worked diligently.

SP's strict message:
Superintendent of Police Bhojram Patel has made it clear that the campaign against cow smuggling, drug smuggling and anti-social elements will continue and no one will be spared.

This action of Mungeli Police will curb illegal animal smuggling in the area and the sense of security among the general public will be strengthened.
