Kondagaon During the intensive inspection of vehicles by the inspection team under the leadership and guidance of the officer secretary of the Mandi Samiti Suresh Kumar Singh in the Krishi Upaj Mandi Samiti Kondagaon area, action was taken against the illegal transportation of maize.
According to the information received, on 17 June 2025, Rajkumar, a resident of village Konapur Tajadur, was found transporting 500 bags of notified agricultural produce maize in vehicle number TN5 AA 8098 in village Antapur, adjacent to the district's neighboring state Odisha, and firm Priya Traders from village Bade Ghodsoda was found transporting 500 bags of vehicle number OD 02 AV 7510 without market papers and documents. Under Section 23 of the Mandi Act 1972, seizure proceedings were taken and the vehicle along with the produce was handed over to police custody at police station Antapur.
For the said case, five times the total value based charges prescribed by the government under Section 19(4) of the Mandi Act 1972, Mandi fee, Krishak Kalyan fee, destitute fee and settlement settlement fee under Section 53 of the Act were taken. Taking action on the seizure case as per the Mandi Act, a total amount of one lakh 2 thousand 80 rupees was recovered from the concerned traders. As per the update in the session 2025-26, a total of 07 cases were registered, in which 2737 bags with estimated weight 1642.20 quintals with total value of Rs 35 lakh 37 thousand 780 were disposed of by taking action under the provisions of Section 19 (4) of the Mandi Act 1972.
