Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai and Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma reached the 4th Battalion Mana today and paid tribute to the mortal remains of Jawan Shri Nitesh Ekka who was martyred in the Naxalite encounter in Narayanpur district yesterday by laying a wreath on his body. The Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister shouldered the mortal remains of the martyred Jawan and sent it off with full respect to his native village Chiraidan in Jashpur district.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai said that our brave Jawan has made the supreme sacrifice in the Naxalite encounter in Abujhmad area of Narayanpur district. As soon as our government was formed, we have intensified our fight against Naxalites and we are fighting a decisive battle. The Chief Minister said that the martyrdom of our soldiers will not go in vain and we are determined to establish peace in the area.
During this time, Chief Minister Shri Sai met the family members of martyr Jawan Shri Nitesh Ekka and consoled them.
It is worth noting that martyred constable of STF Shri Nitesh Ekka was a resident of Jashpur district. On June 12, a joint force of DRG, STF and BSF left for an anti-Naxal operation in Farasbeda-Dhurbeda area of Narayanpur district. During the operation on June 15, the Naxalites started indiscriminate firing on the security forces and in retaliation, 08 Maoists were killed. During this, two security personnel were injured and one soldier was martyred.
On this occasion, MLA Shri Motilal Sahu, DGP Shri Ashok Juneja, Additional Chief Secretary Home Shri Manoj Kumar Pingua, ADG Shri Pradeep Gupta, Shri Himanshu Gupta, Divisional Commissioner Shri Sanjay Alang along with senior police officers and family members of the martyred soldier were present.
