The Supreme Court has refused to give immediate relief to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Kejriwal had filed a petition in the Supreme Court against the Delhi High Court order staying the bail granted to him by the lower court in the Delhi Excise Policy case. The vacation bench of Justice Manoj Mishra and SVN Bhatti said that let the High Court give its order. We will hear you on June 26.

Earlier, advocate Abhishek Singhvi, appearing for Kejriwal in the Supreme Court, requested to lift the High Court's stay on the bail order in the ED case related to the alleged excise scam. ASG SV Raju, appearing for the ED, opposed Kejriwal's petition and said that the High Court is going to give its verdict on his stay petition.

On this, the Supreme Court told Abhishek Singhvi that if it passes any order on CM Kejriwal's petition against the High Court's stay order, it would be prejudicial to the case. Let us tell you that the National Convenor of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on March 21. He could have come out of Tihar Jail last Friday, but the High Court, while hearing the petition of the Federal Investigation Agency, stayed his bail.

Actually, the lower court had granted bail to Kejriwal on June 20, but the High Court put an interim stay on it last Friday. Kejriwal, the national convener of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on March 21. A vacation bench of the High Court had said that the decision which has been challenged cannot be implemented till further orders. The High Court had asked both the parties to file written arguments by June 24. The court has fixed July 10 as the date for hearing the petition.
