Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai Attends Maa Mahananda Chitrotpala Ganga Mahanadi Mahaarati Mahotsav-2024

  • Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai on Tuesday participated in the Maa Mahananda Chitrotpala Ganga Mahanadi Mahaarati Mahotsav-2024 held on the banks of the Mahanadi River at Darhaghat, Chandrapur in Sakti district. During the event, he inaugurated the Ganga Aarti at Darhaghat, which was funded through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) contributions.

  • The Mahaarati witnessed enthusiastic participation from a large number of devotees, including a significant presence of women, who joined in the prayers and rituals.

  • In his address, Chief Minister Shri Sai congratulated the gathering on the occasion of Devuthani Ekadashi and expressed his pleasure in being part of the event. Reflecting on the significance of Mahanadi, he remarked, “Mahanadi is the lifeline of Chhattisgarh. It not only provides potable water supply to the people but also stands as a testament to our Rishi tradition.” He emphasized the historical and cultural importance of the river, noting that Chhattisgarh is the land of Mother Kaushalya, the maternal home of Lord Shri Ram, and shared his happiness at witnessing the construction of the grand Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.

  • The Chief Minister also highlighted various ongoing initiatives, such as the Ram Lalla Darshan Yojana, which enables Chhattisgarh residents to visit Ayodhya, and the upcoming restart of the Tirtha Yatra Yojana. Additionally, work is underway to develop corridors for the five Shaktipeeths in Chhattisgarh.

  • Highlighting the cultural and spiritual importance of rivers, Shri Sai urged everyone to protect them for future generations. He said, “Rivers are not just flowing water, but the essence of our cultural and religious identity. In Indian culture, rivers have always been considered life-giving. This event will help instill in us the duty to preserve these invaluable natural resources.”

  • The program also featured an address by Sadhvi Pragya Devi, along with the presence of several dignitaries, including MP Janjgir Champa Smt. Kamlesh Jangde, MP Raigarh Shri Radheshyam Rathiya, Chandrapur MLA Shri Ramkumar Yadav, and a large number of other local leaders and devotees.

  • The event concluded with a collective call to action for preserving the rivers of Chhattisgarh, acknowledging their vital role in sustaining the region’s environment and culture.
