Awareness program conducted in school to prevent child marriage

On the instructions of Collector Richa Prakash Chaudhary, awareness programmes are being organised in various schools of the district for Beti Bachao Beti Padhao and prevention of child marriage, under which an awareness programme was organised today in the Government Higher Secondary School of village Dhaurabhantha.

Under the guidance of District Program Officer and District Women and Child Development Officer, Lokmani Sahu and Chandra Prakash Patel gave detailed information about begging, child marriage prevention, adoption, foster care, Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act 2012 to the teachers and students of village Dhorabhatha. He told that according to the Child Marriage Prohibition Act 2006 Indian law, child marriage is a marriage in which either the woman is below 18 years of age or the man is below 21 years of age. Child marriage is a social evil, the reasons for which can be social, economic, cultural or love affairs. It is necessary to create a positive environment by discussing and completely eliminating those reasons.
