Inspired by the new Naxal rehabilitation policy of the state government, the Naxal couple surrendered before Kabirdham police on January 18. Surrendered Naxal Ramesh alias Messa was on the post of Deputy Commander of Bodla Area Committee Expansion Platoon No. 3, his wife Roshni alias Hidme was working as a member of Bodla Area Committee Expansion Platoon No. 3 and both had a reward of Rs 5 lakh each on their heads. Both surrendered before Kabirdham SP and the SP welcomed them to return to the mainstream by giving a bouquet. The

new rehabilitation policy announced under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai and Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma has created a positive environment for surrender. Ramesh alias Messa and his wife Roshni alias Hidme, who were on high posts in the Naxal organization, decided to surrender after getting fed up with the internal conflict and exploitative ideology of the organization. The surrendered couple was immediately provided incentive money, monthly stipend, housing, training, and other facilities. This success was achieved under the guidance of Rajnandgaon Range Inspector General of Police Deepak Kumar Jha and Kabirdham SP Dharmendra Singh and other senior officers. The head constable and other officers of the District Special Branch also contributed significantly in this. This is the case of the eighth rewarded Naxalite who has surrendered in the district so far. 'Ramesh alias Messa' had carried out many violent activities while working as a deputy commander in the Naxalite organization and was involved in encounters with the police. He was an SLR rifle holder during his stay in the organization. At the same time, 'Roshni alias Hidme' was a trained member of the organization, who played an active role in Naxalite violence and was an INSAS rifle holder in the organization. Both of them have 2 Naxal crimes registered against them in Taregaon police station. This incident reflects the dedicated efforts of the Chhattisgarh government and the police administration against Naxalism, which are committed to promote peace and development in the state.
