ED now has full zonal office in Raipur, appointment of Joint Director Prabhat

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has taken a major administrative step in the capital of Chhattisgarh and promoted its sub-zonal office to a full-fledged zonal office. Along with this, a joint director has been appointed here. Under the new order of ED, Prabhakar Prabhat will be the first Joint Director (JDE) of Raipur. He has been appointed along with 12 other joint directors.

Raipur office becomes independent from Mumbai
Till now the sub-zonal office of Raipur was working under the Mumbai Zonal Office. But, with Prabhakar Prabhat taking charge, this office of Raipur will work independently and will be directly under the headquarters in Delhi.

The decision was taken due to increasing cases.
The office of ED was established in Raipur about eight years ago. In the past years, cases related to money laundering and misuse of government funds have increased in Chhattisgarh. Due to this, the work pressure on the sub-zonal office increased, in view of which it was decided to promote it to a full-fledged zonal office.

New structure and facilities
Raipur Zonal Office now has two Deputy Directors (DD), Assistant Directors, Enforcement Officers, Assistant Enforcement Officers and other clerical staff. After the formation of the Zonal Office, the number of cadres and employees will also increase. ED has sought land from the state government to build a new building for the office. At present, this office is operating in a rented building in Pujari Park premises.

Appointments across the country
ED has made new appointments across the country, including 7 Additional Directors (AD). This is expected to improve the functioning of the Enforcement Directorate more effectively.

This move is being considered important in view of the increasing cases in Chhattisgarh. With the independence of this Zonal Office of Raipur, regional investigation and enforcement work is likely to accelerate.
