40th annual mine safety fortnight was organized under the aegis of the Directorate General of Mine Safety at the Nandini mine of Bhilai Steel Plant. Under the safety fortnight, the mine was visited by the inspection team nominated by the Directorate General of Mine Safety. The inspection team included members from NMDC, Bajrang Power and Sarda Energy.
Chief General Manager Flux C Srikant inaugurated the program by hoisting the safety flag and encouraged all the employees working in Nandini mine to maintain safety standards. At the beginning of the program, Deputy General Manager Nandini Mines Birendra Kumar presented the welcome address and said that Nandini mine has achieved the target of 'zero accident' for the last 10 years. A new drilling machine has been started in the mine from the year 2024. The use of this machine has helped in making the workplace dust free, which has increased the safety as well as safety.
Increase in productivity has also been ensured. Solar blinkers have been installed in the mine for traffic safety. D Mandi, convener of the inspection team
administered the safety oath to the people present. He congratulated all the employees for achieving the target of 'zero accident' and thanked them for this work.
