The police arrested two militants of the banned group United National Liberation Front (UNLF-Pambai) from Narankonjil area of the district on Saturday, the official said. The two militants were also involved in extortion activities and illegal smuggling of arms and ammunition, the official said. A .32 pistol and Rs 3,120 in cash were seized from their possession. The official said a militant of the banned outfit People's Liberation Army (PLA) involved in extortion activities was arrested from Kangjabi Leirak Machin area on Saturday.
