Three people died and two dozen were injured in a collision between two buses returning from Maha Kumbh

Three people were killed and more than two dozen passengers were injured when a double-decker bus returning from Maha Kumbh collided with another parked bus on Yamuna Expressway in Mathura on Tuesday. Officials gave this information. Police said that the injured were taken to the hospital. Police said that the bus which was parked was also returning with devotees from Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj. This bus was also a double-decker.

Two passengers who got out of the parked bus were crushed and died on the spot, while another succumbed to his injuries during treatment. According to Senior Superintendent of Police Shailesh Kumar Pandey, the accident occurred when a bus returning from Maha Kumbh developed a technical fault on the expressway. The driver parked the bus on the side of the road and sent someone to get spare parts.

He said another double-decker bus returning from Prayagraj collided with a parked bus while trying to overtake a car. Raya police station in-charge Ajay Kishore said the deceased have been identified as Parmanand (68), a resident of Nawada in Delhi, Rajkumar (50), a resident of Khoda Colony in Ghaziabad and Amit Mishra (23), a resident of Chhatarpur in Madhya Pradesh. Those who were slightly injured were discharged after treatment, while 16 others are being treated in various hospitals.
