The Excise Department team has seized 400 boxes of illegal English liquor in a major action at the Chilfi checkpost located on the border of Chhattisgarh-Madhya Pradesh. This liquor was manufactured in Madhya Pradesh and was being prepared to be consumed in Kawardha and Raipur districts. On the information of the informer, the Excise team stopped this vehicle and recovered the liquor during investigation. One accused has been arrested in this case and his interrogation is going on.

This time the smugglers adopted a unique method to hide the consignment of liquor. They had filled the liquor bottles in tomato crates and loaded them in the truck, so that no one would suspect at the checkpost. However, due to the vigilance of the Excise Department and the accurate information of the informer, this smuggling failed.

Investigation has revealed that the seized English liquor was manufactured in Madhya Pradesh and was being supplied illegally in Chhattisgarh. The smugglers were trying to sell this liquor in the markets of Kawardha and Raipur.
