Police solved a robbery case of Rs 60 lakhs in 24 hours, 10 accused arrested

In the case of robbery of 60 lakhs in Anupam Nagar of Khamhardih police station area of ​​the capital on February 11, the police has achieved a big success by arresting 10 accused within 24 hours. The arrested accused include two interstate criminals from Nagpur and a woman.

The victim Manoharan Velu told the police that he lives with his sisters Prema Velu and Ranjani Velu in D-14 house of Anupam Nagar. On February 11, between 2:30 and 3:20 pm, two masked miscreants entered the house in army uniform and started talking on the pretext of investigating false allegations. Then another person also came inside and suddenly they attacked the victim and tied his hands and feet and pasted tape on his mouth.

After this, four more miscreants (three men and one woman) entered inside and fled after looting Rs 65.25 lakh cash, three gold chains and three mobile phones kept in the house.

Tremendous investigation by crime branch and cyber unit
On the instructions of Inspector General of Police Amresh Mishra and Senior Superintendent of Police Dr. Lal Umed Singh, 10 teams of anti-crime and cyber unit were formed. Police traced the accused with the help of CCTV footage, mobile location and informer.

Police investigation revealed that the main accused A. Som Shekhar was a Subedar in BSF and had taken voluntary retirement in 2011. He had planned this robbery along with his companions Devlal Verma and Kamlesh Verma. Shekhar was aware of the financial condition of the victim's family, so he prepared his companions to carry out this crime.

Police have seized Rs 59.50 lakh in cash, gold jewellery, two cars (ridged and Alto) used in the incident from the accused. A case has been registered under sections 310(2), 331(5), 123, 351(3) BNS and 25, 27 Arms Act. Police is now investigating the records of the accused related to other crimes and the search for other suspects associated with the gang is on.
