A major accident took place in Faridkot, Punjab on Tuesday morning. After colliding with a truck, a bus of New Deep Company broke the railing and fell into the drain. Five people including a woman have died in this accident.
Three dead have been identified and all three are residents of Muktsar district. According to the administration, the dead include Muktsar teacher Simran, Atma Ram of village Shere Wale of Muktsar and former Sarpanch Balraj Singh of village Chibdawali of Muktsar. Of these, Simran worked in Faridkot's Kendriya Vidyalaya while Atma Ram was a ticket checker of a private bus company at Faridkot's bus stand. The other two have not been identified yet.
At the same time, more than 40 people have been seriously injured in the accident, who have been admitted to Guru Gobind Singh Medical College Hospital in Faridkot for treatment. As soon as the information about the accident was received, administrative officials including Deputy Commissioner Vineet Kumar reached the spot and started rescue work.

Due to this many people were injured and the condition of many is said to be critical.
